VACANCIES - 2025 & 2026

TEACHING AND NON-TEACHING POSITIONS

Early Childhood / Generalist Teachers - Newman

Rawa Community School

Job description

Rawa Community School is inviting applications for Early Childhood and Generalist Teachers, for Immediate Start and 2026 positions.

Based in the remote Aboriginal communities of Kunawarritji and Punmu (East Pilbara, WA), these positions offer a truly unique and rewarding experience.

We are a Martu community-led school dedicated to two-way learning, combining Manyjilyjarra and English/Western approaches. Our classrooms are collaborative spaces where local Martu Language Teachers work alongside educators to deliver culturally responsive, engaging programs.

Who We’re Looking For

  • Experienced teachers (remote/regional Aboriginal community experience highly valued) OR those seeking to genuinely learn and build experience teaching in remote communities - new graduates and early career teachers are encouraged to apply.

  • Teachers competent in trauma-informed practices

  • Flexible, culturally respectful educators and support staff

  • Available for an immediate start or to join our 2026 Teaching Pool

  • Willing to live and work in a very remote setting - independent, resilient and a team player.

  • TRBWA registered (or suitably qualified and eligible to gain TRBWA registration)

  • Hold a current Working With Children Check

What We Offer

  • Relocation from your nearest Capital City (or equivalent)

  • Fully furnished housing provided (includes internet and utilities)

  • Attractive remuneration including a remote living allowance

  • Opportunities available for partners to work as school support staff

Send your Cover Letter (max 1 page) and CV addressed to Corrie Baxter <corrie.baxter@rawaschool.wa.edu.au>

Your Cover Letter should include:

1. A bit about yourself and why you're keen to join our team on Martu Country. Coming solo, with a friend or family?

2. Your motivation for remote teaching - what draws you to this experience? Keen for an immediate start, short-term role, long-term adventure, a contract for 2026 or the teaching pool?

3. Your experience and strengths - what you'd love to teach (ECE/Primary/High School), and any special skills or passion areas.

4. Your teaching style, and how you believe students learn best.

Keep it brief - we want just enough to shortlist for interviews, where there will be plenty of opportunity to share more.
